M.Zannettos studied Architecture at the Canterbury College of Art., from which he graduated in 1966. He then took his Master’s Degree in Urban design at the Edinburgh University and graduated in 1968.

For eight years he worked in the UK for the Greater London Council, Town Development Division, for Livingston New Town Development Corporation in Scotland as an architect, and as a Senior Architect with Robert Matthew, Johnson-Marshall & Partners, architects, in Edinburgh.

Before starting his own private practice in Cyprus, M. Zannettos worked in the Department of Town Planning & Housing, , Ministry of Internal Affairs, in charge of various studies. After the invasion of Cyprus by Turkey he was for 1.5 years the architect to the Cyprus Tourism Organization, responsible for development control in the free part of the island.

As a director of his own office he has designed and managed a large number of projects, residential, tourist, commercial, industrial, health, educational and recreational and was also involved in a lot of planning work. Management of the office involved programming of a lot of work, co-ordination of multi-disciplinary team work and contract management.
